His background is rather impressive for someone who jokingly named himself “Lil Dicky.” Not only is he highly educated (graduated from business school with a 3.9 GPA) but he has always been a very creative person – he just never realized that the creativity he possessed could perform so well in the music industry. Where I typically find rappers spitting verses about how many women they can pull or how much money they have in their bank account, I found Lil Dicky (real name David Burd) spitting verses about his Jewish heritage or his less than spectacular sex life. It’s not that it never happens, but it is indeed a rarity – especially in Rap music.
I love it when I come across an artist that defies all of the stereotypes found within their genre.
In an effort to resuscitate a genre that is seemingly becoming more and more void of lighthearted and at times brutally honest material, Lil Dicky blasted onto the scene with his first full length, crowdfunded studio album titled Professional Rapper.
